Maximize Your Grad Revenue
by Brad Hurley

Winter Grads are here, so make sure you are following the best practices for the grad market. Remember, these best practices have been developed and proven by veteran CCS customers.

Are you implementing all of the following things to maximize your grad revenue?

Email collection
Collect two addresses per grad by handing out and collecting information card at the ceremony - successful customers are able to collect valid emails for 75% of their grads. A successful email campaign can increase you sales by 20%. Marketing by email also drives more customers to the web to order, which reduces in office labor, and increased print delivery time.

Pre-Selling to friends and family at the ceremony

Have a table with sample prints and blank order forms and collect payment at the ceremony.

Shoot friends and family before and after the ceremony
Most images will sell at least one print.

Multiple shots of each graduate
Double and triple shooting add significantly to sales by giving the grad more options. 20% of grads that were triple shot purchase all three images.

Fast Proofing
Getting your email proofs out in less than 24 hours, quickly followed by paper proofs, will greatly improve your number of buyers, as well as your average. Customers are seeing an increase in revenue of 12% when delivering email proofs within 24 hours of the ceremony.

Quick Retouching
8% of grads offered retouching purchased it. With a $12 net, that adds dramatically to your bottom line.

Cap and Gown Portraits
Portraits have a significantly higher sales average than ceremony images. Several successful customers have sales averages of over $140. Portraits can be offered for grads that don't cross the stage, and can be a lead for ceremonies you aren’t currently booking. Cap and Gown Portraits are another area where selling on the spot can generate a significant increase in revenue.

Be sure to follow all of these proven best practices to keep your graduation business on top in an increasingly competitive market.
