We're
Looking Forward to Welcoming You in 10 Days!
With just 10 days left until
the beginning of the 3 Day CCS Summer Workshops
right here in Oklahoma City, customer registrations
for both the meetings and the training sessions are still
coming in daily. It’s not too late!
Although the reservation deadline at the Hilton Garden
Inn has passed, you are free to go online and register
for the meetings and training sessions right up to the
day before we meet in July.
CCS is fully set up and ready to roll with our new training
facility housed in former
 |
production space downstairs in the CCS
building. This hands-on opportunity for software and studio
training is one of the biggest benefits of hosting our
workshops on our home turf. We encourage you to review
the training sessions for Sunday and early mornings and
late afternoons on Monday and Tuesday and sign up for
some today. At this point, we already have more than 50
spaces booked for the over 20 hours of total training
being offered from CORE to QEMS.
The best reason to attend any CCS meeting, whether it’s
the Summer Workshops or the Winter Seminar is the idea
that you are around people that are in the same business.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to be around others
that do what you do is a major benefit. Got an idea; then
kick it around with others. Have an idea for a new product
or service or software feature; then throw it out on the
floor and let’s brainstorm! Maybe your idea will
be the one that adds new profit dollars to every other
customer’s business.
We hope to see you soon!
Focus On Proactive Email Collection
in Sports
With email acquisition a proven success factor
in the Race and Grad markets, the challenge remains on
how best to use this mode of communication proactively
in the Sports market, as well. Currently,
with youth sports and action sports, the common practice
is to attempt to collect the email address on the order
form along with passing out password cards to parents.
The distribution of password cards at any event puts the
ball in the court of the attendee to take the next step
- i.e. log on to your site to access their images and
make that buying decision. Any method that moves this
process from proactive to reactive makes that process
easier for the customer and more likely to occur.
Talk with any parent who has a child in youth sports and
they will most likely tell you that the vast majority
of team communications from the coach come via email to
their home or work email address. Parent Coaches pressed
for time can effectively use email to remind parentsabout
an upcoming game, which uniform to wear, a change in practice
time, etc.
These same coaches can help you with your business. Here's
how- If coaches will not supply you with their parents'
email addresses, it is not much to ask (and in fact a
favor to team parents) for the coach to forward your email
with links to the team images. Once this is done and your
forwarded email message is sitting in the parents' "In"
box, that process just moved from reactive to proactive.
While many times we think in terms of what we can eliminate
from a coaches' list of responsibilities regarding sports
pictures (we can mail the orders directly to the athlete
so the coach does not need to deliver; we can distribute
order forms instead of asking the coach to do so), this
is one thing we can ask the coach to do that is fast,
easy and of value to this parents.
Make the coach your ally. Many coach their child and his
team for a number of years in a row and this relationship
can serve your business very well.

How many times have you been at an event expecting there
to be tables to use and there are none?
CCS customer, Scott Christenson of
Memory
Lane Photography in Champaign, IL passed along this
little gem of a product for any type of event where you
need tables to either display your products; or to provide
space for parents/students/players to complete forms at
sport shoots, proms, grads, etc.
Here’s Scott showing
us that a 6-footer doesn’t have to
bend over nearly that much to complete an order
form,
or to fill out an address form. |
These tables from
Sam’s
Club come in packs of 4 for $156.27 and are totally
adjustable in height from 23” to 29” to 36”.
Not only are they light, strong and easy to carry with
their own handle, but their adjustability makes it easier
for those filling out order forms, etc. to stand at near
counter height in a far more comfortable position.
If you follow the above link, it also says they “seat
four people”, which will also come in handy for
that occasional kids’ table at Thanksgiving and
Christmas!
Thanks for the tip, Scott.
