CCS
Summer Workshops are on the Horizon by Dana Hill
The
CCS Summer Workshops are two months away. Held
here in Oklahoma City to take full advantage of our
training facilities, the dates are July 29th through
July 31st. All meetings and trainings will take
place at Candid Color Systems and as always, there
is no fee to attend. The agenda is full of opportunities
for you to learn and grow your business.
Starting
with the training sessions on Sunday and going through
Tuesday afternoon, more than 22 hours of training sessions
are available from CORE to QP2 to Photo Training. Monday
and Tuesday mornings offer general session presentations
on the Sports Opportunity, Software and Email Marketing updates,
as well as interactive discussions on market specific topics
such as Grads, Races, Groups, Weddings, Party Pics and PhotoMatch. And
by request, you will also notice that our traveling “How
To Make More Money In Sports Photography” seminar
is Monday afternoon as another option. Click here to
view the full workshop agenda.
Beyond the trainings and presentations, attendance and participation
at CCS workshops offers other benefits. The most important,
of course, are the networking opportunities with other CCS
customers and CCS staff. Hear ideas that could
impact your business and perhaps why you should consider
growing your business into other market segments. Participate
in one of our lab tours. Meet
with your Support Rep. Send in your registration today – this
can be done via, email, fax or mail. Download the printable
version here. Registration is due by July 20th.

workshops information is on candidnet under the “seminars” tab.
We look forward to seeing you in Oklahoma City!
CCS
Customers Bring Home the Hardware
In
surveys sent out to CCS customers after the Winter Seminar
in Miami, Radley and Tina Muller of Yary
Photography in Bellingham,
WA received the highest scores—of all those that presented—for
their wedding presentation during one of the breakout
sessions.
Apparently,
that was not a fluke!
Recently, at the
print competition at the annual convention of the Professional
Photographers of
Washington State
(PPW), both Tina and Radley won high honors. For her photograph
titled “Four
Generations”, Tina won Best in Show, Best
Portrait, and Best Unclassified Portrait. By
earning a score of 90 for this print, it earned a place in
the PPW Honor Court and a Gold Seal from the Professional
Photographers of America (PPA).
In a testament to her photographic skills, Tina also won
a trophy for Best Wedding Candid and the trophy for Best
Wedding Portrait, along with earning another Gold Seal
from the PPA. In addition, a wedding album that she
co-entered with husband Radley, also won a Gold Seal and
was honored as one of the top three albums in all of Washington
State.
Not to be outdone
Radley Muller’s photographed titled “Sharp
Dressed Man” won the trophy for Best Portrait
of a Groom along with earning a Gold seal from PPA. His photograph titled “Secluded
Kiss” also earned a Gold Seal from PPA and was selected
as one of the top three portraits of a bride and groom
in the state of Washington.
Congratulations to Tina and Radley for their continued
success. All of
Yary’s award winning images are on display in the
Photo Awards section of the company’s website. PhotoRescue
Memory Card Recovery in Expert Mode
by Steve Foisy
Over
the past few weeks, we have received a few calls from photographers
who were unable to recover images from corrupt memory cards
using PhotoRescue in its standard operating mode. If
this situation arises, run PhotoRescue in Expert Mode to
maximize the chances of successfully recovering images.
After
opening the software check the Expert
Mode menu option from the Photo Drive
Screen.
2. Click
OK
Select
the Ignore directories and FAT menu
option. This allows the program to ignore
any references to the old corrupt image index that
may be preventing the software from identifying
all valid images still on the memory card. Do
not change any other items. If the software
requires you to select the Card Size and Cluster
Size and it cannot do it automatically, your memory
card may be physically damaged and may be beyond
recovery. Contact Support for assistance
if this scenario arises and we will go through
other configurations that may help in this situation.
PhotoRescue can be purchased online
for $29 at Datarescue.
