The CCS Summer Workshops are next month!

Held here in Oklahoma City to take full advantage of our training facilities, the dates are July 29th through July 31st.  All meetings and trainings will take place at Candid Color Systems and as always, there is no fee to attend. The agenda is full of opportunities for you to learn and grow your business.

Starting with the training sessions on Sunday and going through Tuesday afternoon, more than 22 hours of training sessions are available from CORE to QP2 to Photo Training.  Monday and Tuesday mornings offer general session presentations on the Sports Opportunity, Software and Email Marketing updates, as well as interactive discussions on market specific topics such as Grads, Races, Groups, Weddings, Party Pics and PhotoMatch.  And by request, you will also notice that our 18 city traveling  seminar “How To Make More Money In Sports Photography”  is Monday afternoon as another option.  Click here to download the full workshop agenda.

Beyond the trainings and presentations, attendance and participation at CCS workshops offers other benefits.  The most important, of course, are the networking opportunities with other CCS customers and CCS staff.  Hear ideas that could impact your business and perhaps why you should consider growing your business into other market segments.  Participate in one of our lab tours.  Meet with your Support Rep. Send in your registration today – this can be done via, email, fax or mail. Register online here, user name and password login required.

CCS is retiring Alchemedia's Clever Content Image Protection

In February 2000, Candid purchased and implemented a digital image protection program called Clever Content written by Alchemedia which has been available for use with QP2.  CCS received its last software update from Alchemedia during May of 2001.  Shortly thereafter Alchemedia went out of business.

As you can imagine, operating system and browser technology have changed significantly over the last seven years.  We have had several customers report problems with current computer systems and the older Clever Content technology.  Due to changes in browser and operating system functionality some potential security concerns with Clever Content have been noted.  Since we do not have the source code nor is there a company around supporting and updating the Clever Content application, we feel we must retire Alchemedia’s Clever Content.

CCS has developed an image copying deterrence system for QPPlus.  While not a perfect system, we feel it offers improvements over Clever Content.  Since Candid has developed this system, we can adjust it as technology changes and make improvements in house as new browser technology develops.  Other than Adobe’s Flash viewer Candid’s image deterrence system does not require any custom plug-ins or browser add-ons to function.  The Flash viewer is ubiquitous and comes preinstalled on many new computer systems.   Consequently it is highly unlikely to introduce any system instability.  However,  like Clever Content, the system is not “fool proof.”

QPPlus currently supports all markets available in QP2 other than Sports. Consequently, CCS will be adding the QPPlus image protection option to the Sports market on QP2.  However, it will not be added to other QP2 markets.   If you have other markets with active QP2 events you can migrate your events to QPPlus, choose to have the images watermarked, or leave them active on QP2 without any image protection.  Please contact Customer Support for instructions on how to use the watermark features and to discuss how to get a custom watermark for your company. Our hope is to shut Alchemedia down by June 25, 2007.
