Candid Color Systems’ Level Two products are custom pieces
of artwork created from your posed, action or simulated action sports
images. Our artists place your image on one of our 20+ Level Two background
designs which are then matched to the color of the subject’s uniform/
clothing. Many Level Two designs can also be customized with the athlete’s
name, team, organization logo, year or school letter.
The resulting image is
always printed on Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper.

Find
the matching sport and L2 background & copy the entire html string
into your package description field. This
will allow your retail customers to see a sample L2 image. Don’t
forget to test! Adjusting
the % at the end of the html code will change the size of the online
sample image.

Level Two: Did You know…
Background Designs
Level Two products were designed so the backgrounds could be used with
MANY different types of sports and activities. We have tried to not
make the L2 designs sport-specific so they are more flexible. Of course,
some designs lend themselves to particular activities better than others,
but there are many possibilities with each. So, when deciding on a
Level Two background design, look beyond the sample. For example: CCS
may have a soccer image in a “Chrome” design sample, but that design
could be used for football, dance, hockey, etc.
Background Colors
All Level Two design background colors are adjusted based on the color
of the uniform, clothing or costume of the subject. This means that
your Level Two product will always match school or team colors! As an
example, see our “Replicant” design sample images. This is the same
design used with several different sports & activities. Each “Replicant”
sample has the background color matched to the clothing or uniform
of the subject.
Team/ Organization Logos
The photographer has the ability to upload a team/ organization logo.
One logo per event number is the maximum. The collegiate or school
letter shown in some L2 designs is selected by the CCS artist. The
artist uses the first letter of the team name visible. If you have
a team name that looks something like “U17” and do not want that used
as the collegiate letter then please contact your customer service
rep.

File Sizes & Custom Art Time
All Level Two products are created by a CCS artist cutting a subject
out of an original image and placing them on an L2 background. To have
the best possible result, your original image should be shot full frame.
This allows the artist the most resolution to work with. Original images
should also be at least 500K (or larger if the subject does not fill
the frame). All L2 products are charged for 3 minutes of custom art
time to cut out the subject and create the finished L2 product. Please
keep in mind that L2 products are custom made pieces of artwork. There
is some level of artistic interpretation in every image. If our art
department is provided with a ¾ body shot they always do their best
to place a fade in pertinent areas so the image looks its’ best. If
a uniform has multiple colors, they will select the most prominent
color.
Set Up and Metallic Paper
When offering L2 products you must select Pearlized Portrait finish (Metallic
paper) in the “effects” column online. All L2 products are produced
on Metallic paper to ensure that we are providing the ultimate sports
product. The metallic paper also helps bring out the detail in the
unique L2 graphics.
Level Two: The Identity
Level Two products are always rendered in type as "Level Two" or "L2". not
as "Level 2" or "L Two".
Below are links to the Level Two logos. They are reproduced in either black
or white. The main logo is called Rough.
The secondary logo, used as a design element, is called Wings. The
.png format files have transparent backgrounds and are suitable for use
on webpages. Click the logo to download a ZIP archive folder containing
various sizes.
